Maybelline - Super Stay 7 Days

Monday, 28 April 2014

There's nothing I love more than a good nail polish. I have a few faves in what is quite an extensive collection comprising a lot of different brands, but up until very recently I had never tried a single nail polish from the Maybelline range (shock horror).

I was first drawn to these particular polishes as part of my neverending quest to uncover the perfect minty shade - i.e. mint enough to not be considered turquoise, yet not pale enough to wash out my pasty fingertips. 'Mint For Life' seemed like it could be a contender in this instance, and after seeing it raved about by the likes of Lily Pebbles and Anna (Vivianna Does Make Up), I thought I would give it a go.

Hair Care Essentials - The Routine

Wednesday, 23 April 2014

I've always been one of those people, who, when getting my locks trimmed gets compliments on how 'lovely and thick' my hair is. Thick it may be, however, along with thick comes not only the burden of having to detangle the rats nest left over after a good shampoo and condition but also the quest of trying to obtain some volume without being left with the worst case of 'flathead' imaginable.
Mid-length hair seems to be the current trend within the 'blogosphere', and as much as I like how it looks on other people, I haven't quite been converted to having the chop myself as yet. I have waist length tresses and I love them - they may not be the easiest to handle or to style, but they're like a comfort blanket to me and no matter how rubbish I might feel about my chunky thighs or my less than perfect skin that day, I know I'll always feel good about my hair.
I've always been a fan of a 'big' bouffant - and I will admit, that on occasion, I may have taken it to a whole other level (a level to which it should never have been taken truth be told).
However, after much trial and error, I think that I may have finally nailed the key to obtaining voluminous hair without their being a back-comb or a blow-dry in sight!

The Dupe - Loreal v Giorgio Armani

Tuesday, 22 April 2014

I've been on the hunt for the 'perfect' foundation for as long as I can remember and until not long ago, thought I had come as close as I was likely to get when I invested in beauty bloggers favourite - Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk. A gorgeous satin finish as the name would suggest, oil free (a big bonus for those of us who suffer with recurring shine throughout the day) and most of all, impressively long lasting.

However, having heard a few whispers amongst some of my go to beauty aficionados where recommendations are concerned, that the Loreal True Match Foundation holds not dissimilar properties and gives it's higher end counterpart a good run for it's money (all thirty five pounds worth of it!) I decided to put it to the test...

Is it Really Possible to become a Full Time Blogger?

Tuesday, 15 April 2014

When I'm stuck behind the office desk, fluorescent lighting shining down as opposed to the sunshine I can see bathing the car park through the box window to my left, I often get to thinking about what it would be like to be my own boss.

Over the last twelve months, I have both worked for and made friends with some of the most inspirational people when it comes to making something from nothing and following an idea - a dream, a passion, through to the point where it is no longer a dream but a reality -  a lifestyle. This is now something that I hope to achieve for myself one day, though how I am going to do this is something I have yet to explore the possibility of in any real depth.
